What modern design offers

Modern homes favor clean lines, open floor plans, large windows and simple materials such as stucco, steel and glass. Rooms flow into each other, natural light does much of the work, and the finishes tend to be understated. The trade-off is that the simplicity is unforgiving—every joint, edge and surface shows—so the quality of the build matters even more.

What traditional design offers

Traditional homes draw on familiar forms: pitched roofs, defined rooms, arches, columns, brick or stone, and detailed trim. They feel warm and established, and many buyers in the Valley are drawn to the Spanish and Mediterranean influences that suit our climate and history. The extra detail does add labor, and defined rooms can feel less flexible than an open plan.
